Technical help

optical me
Need some help with with an iPhone issue:

Whilst trying to set up my iTunes library to work on my PC (hosting the music) and MacBook (using the same xml library), I appear to have caused something odd to happen to my iPhone's syncing.

Firstly, all the apps that lived on the Mac (where I usually sync the iPhone) and don't live on the iPhone any more, all the apps that are backed up when you remove them, they're gone. I can live with that, I wasn't using them anyway, paid or not.

Now, I have the same music library on the PC and Mac.

When I plug in my iPhone to the Mac the apps don't duplicate themselves into the Applications bit of iTunes.

When the iPhone is plugged in, all the music/videos data etc, is greyed out, I can't delete or change any of it.

I can't drag an iTunes playlist into my iPhone.

What have I done, and how can I fix it?

nb: I have not yet tried syncing with iTunes on the PC - too scared!

I'm running the most current iTunes and iPhone OS. Contacts/Calendar, all that stuff, syncs fine. Everything else is greyed out and I don't appear to be able to alter it.

Solved.

In other news, this week I have successfully installed Windows 7 and a new graphics card. Also used some compressed air to de-dust the dust mine that was my case.

The Lady Gaga Post

optical me
I went to see Lady Gaga t the Echo Arena in Liverpool last night. It was very good. We were at the front of the cheap standing section - there's a gold standing section in front of that. I have learned that I have no energy to stand for many hours at these gigs any more. My hips were killing me about an hour from the end I wanted to sit down! I was going to go in and volunteer this morning but I couldn't get out of bed until half ten. I hadn't eaten in the last 24 hours, and I'm dehydrated. OLD! No more standing at arena events for me.

Young people, aren't they awful. We were queing for an hour or so outside before the show surrounded by teenagers, one who was banging on and on to her mates about how she was only going to piss people off because she was really a rock fan (Guns and Roses "I wore Slashs' hat, most people my age don't know who Slash is", and My Chemical Romance "you woudln't like the Download Festival it's hard rock). I don't know why I didn't say something, just the general impression that all Scousers are going to stab you.

The show was very good, loosely based on a story, but mostly camp dance routines. Not all sung live either, but that didn't matter it was fun.

The last section, saved for the three number ones, was the best. Paparazzi includes a giant fish-monster puppet - for one song, they made that for ONE SONG. Blimey.

Support were Semi Precious Weapons, who are like a cliched band you see in films. Think the band from Velvet Goldmine, fronted by a gay Eddie Izzard. And Alphabeat, who are very tight live, in that they sound much like a CD, not quite anything extraordinary about their live set, which is a shame. )

Anyway Gaga footage and photos below and through the cut if you're on the followers page.

New blog

optical me
It seems to be a thing amongst my peoples in the last few weeks that everyone's started a new blog. Well I'm joining in: http://www.defaultnerd.com/ which is less about what I've been doing and more about what I think about things that are a bit nerdy.

Please criticise. It's been a while since I've written much more than 140 characters at a time and also comment on layout and crap like that.

Thanks!

I need your help!

I'm doing some research for a 'creative' project and I need your input. Please fill in below with your answer(s). I'm mostly looking for 'sensible' answers but I expect sensible answers will often be amusing in themselves.

Thanks for helping!

It's 2050 - everything we buy, we buy from home, via the internet. Our news is delivered digitally, the fridge orders food to restock itself etc etc - there is one shop left, what does it sell?
